Policies, Terms and Conditions
It is your responsibility to check your booking confirmation carefully as soon as you receive it and contact us immediately if any information on the confirmation appears to be incorrect or incomplete as it may not be possible to make changes later. Please review your confirmation information carefully.
Cancellation policy: SBACo pays out considerable costs prior to the start of all trips. A full refund, minus a $35.00 per person processing fee, is available up to 7 days prior to the trip. No refund will be granted for a cancellation within 7 days of the trip. Reservations booked within 7 days of the trip are non-refundable. SBACo reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or adjust the trip due to dangerous weather conditions.
Date change policy: You may rescheduled for a different date or tour up to 7 days prior to the trip for an additional 15% processing fee, subject to availability. Any subsequent rescheduling will also be subject to this fee.
Guests under 18 years of age MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign their release forms. If you need this paperwork sent to you ahead of time, please contact our office.
Lost or Stolen Items: Santa Barbara Adventure Company/Channel Islands Adventure Company is not responsible for items that are lost or stolen on your trip. Please make sure you have all your personal items with you at the end of your trip. Thank you.
Please note your own Client Responsibilities: All clients will be required to follow the safety policies and procedures of Santa Barbara Adventure Company/Channel Islands Adventure Company and its guides and all clients will be required to sign a Participant Assumption of Risks, Acknowledgment of Inherent Risks and Indemnity Agreement in favor of Santa Barbara Adventure Company/Channel Islands Adventure Company upon their arrival. Our staff will give instructions before each trip and it is important that you listen and do as they say. You will assume the responsibility for many decisions affecting your safety during this trip. These activities can be physically demanding with inherent elements of risk and danger beyond our control. We do not assume liability for personal injury or death. We offer trips requiring various degrees of fitness. We are not qualified to evaluate your fitness as appropriate for any given trip. If you are overweight or in poor physical condition or have other health concerns, you should consult your physician before the trip.

Meeting Spot: Santa Barbara Visitor Center Parking Lot (unless you have provided a hotel pick up). Directions may be found toward the end of this email.
Meeting Time: We will call you the day prior to confirm your exact pick up time. An estimated time has been provided next to the pick up location you provided above.
Guide gratuity: Our guides do their best to ensure you have a great time. It is customary, but always optional, to tip your guide if you had a positive experience. Guide gratuity is not included in your reservation fee and should be paid directly to your guide (10-15% is standard). We are also happy to apply guide gratuity via credit card at any time by calling our office.
Equipment List for Biking Trips
The required items below are things you will use during your trip. The recommended items are nice to have, but you don’t need to rush out and purchase them. Bottled water will be provided on the bikes.
What to bring:
- Identification card - wineries may request verification that guests are of legal drinking age (21yrs old in the United States)
- 1 quart or greater water bottle filled with water - please help us reduce our environmental footprint by bringing a re-usable bottle
- Sun Screen (SPF 30 or higher).
- A light sweatshirt, sweater or a windbreaker.
- Comfortable walking shorts or cycling shorts
- Comfortable tennis shoes or light hiking boots.
- A hat with a brim. (optional)
- Sunglasses and neck strap such as "Chums." (optional)
- A camera (in a protective case) with extra film. (optional)
- Cycling gloves. (optional)
- Polypropylene/ "Capaline" or other synthetic clothing (sweatshirt and light layer). (optional)
- A small pack or hip sack to hold your stuff. (optional)
Lunch Menu
The lunch menu is linked below for your review and selection. Guests may opt for a sandwich or salad. Please let us know your selections by 2:00pm 1 day prior to your trip as well as any dietary restrictions you may have. You can do so by replying to this confirmation email with the guest name and the number associated with the sandwich or the name of the salad they would prefer.
Itinerary
This is our typical itinerary, though exact timing varies trip to trip based on winery availability:
10:00-10:30am - Pick-up at hotel
11:15am - Winery Tasting
12:15pm-1:30pm - Biking
1:30-3:30pm - Winery Tasting and Lunch
4:00pm-4:30pm Drop off at hotel
Directions to Visitor Center:
From the South: Take HWY 101 NORTH toward Santa Barbara. As you enter the Santa Barbara area, on the LEFT SIDE OFF RAMP, exit GARDEN ST./LAGUNA. Keep LEFT to take the Laguna St. ramp. Turn LEFT onto GARDEN ST. Park in this lot just BEHIND the Santa Barbara Visitor Center (1 Garden St., at the intersection of Cabrillo and Garden). Parking fees of $9 per day per car may apply.
From the North: Take HWY 101 SOUTH toward Santa Barbara. As you enter the Santa Barbara area take the GARDEN ST. EXIT, 96B. Turn right at the end of the off ramp onto Garden St.. Follow Garden St. towards the water. Arrive at 1 Garden St. at the corner of Garden and Cabrillo Blvd (waterfront). The parking lot is immediately behind the Visitor Center building. Parking fees of $9 per day per car may apply.
